Papilocare® is a natural vaginal gel treatment for women with HPV. It will treat cervical lesions, or, if you haven’t yet developed lesions, it will prevent them, and help speed up the eradication of the virus.

This HPV natural treatment has been used by over 500,000 women in Europe and America since 2016, and is now available in the UK and Ireland.

Month 1: 

• Start on day 1 after your period
• Apply daily for 3 weeks
• If you have periods: skip the treatment during menstruation
• If you do not have periods: take a break for week 4 (after 3 weeks), for 1 week

Month 2-6:

• 1 application every other day
• If you have periods: skip the treatment during menstruation 
• If you do not have periods: take a break for week 4 (after 3 weeks), for 1 week 

In total, 71-81 tubes are needed for the six month treatment. 

An enhanced dose is also available for Papilocare®, which is as follows: 

• Daily for 3 months
• Every other day for another 3 months
• If you have periods: skip the treatment during menstruation
• If you do not have periods: take a break for week 4 (after 3 weeks), for 1 week 

In total, 93-99 tubes are needed for the six month treatment. 

Please note that this dose is not yet officially approved by the UK or European regulator, however your doctors may recommend the enhanced dose at their discretion.

The enhanced dose is based on a recent clinical trial which tested the efficacy of the enhanced dosage. 

In a recent clinical trial with 124 patients, 88% of the patients who have used the enhanced dose of Papilcoare vaginal gel eradicated high risk HPV and 85% cleared both HPV and lesions. For comparison, the rate of clearance for lesion and HPV among the untreated patients in the trial was 46%.*

You can use Papilocare® at any time of day, but the gel is more likely to remain in place if you apply it just before bedtime. Pause the treatment during menstruation.

1. Lie down, remove the cap from the nozzle of the tube containing the gel. Gently insert the nozzle completely into the vagina. Do not use it if the tube is open or appears broken.
2. If you find it helpful, you can squeeze out a small quantity of the gel and rub it around the tip of the tube to lubricate it.
3. Squeeze the container (from the bottom to the top) until it is empty, then gently remove the nozzle from the vagina while still squeezing the tube, to avoid gel being sucked back into the container.
4. Do not rinse.
5. Discard the single-dose tube.

Sometimes a small amount of the gel will remain in the tube after use. However, it does not mean that you did not release a sufficient dose. 3ml of the gel is sufficient to cover the cervical-vaginal mucosa while each tube contains 5ml. Please do not reuse any gel that remains in the tube.

We recommend Papilocare® is used for 6 months per manufacturer advice, before re-evaluating. This advice is based on the most comprehensive clinical data, a research study in which patients were treated with Papilocare® for 6 months. However, you can consult your doctor about the dosage and duration of treatment that’s best for you.

Papilocare® works by:

• Restoring the lining of the cervix
• Rebalancing the natural protective environment of the vagina (the vaginal microbiota)
• Boosting the body’s local immune response to the virus.

The effect is to help speed up the rate that HPV is cleared from the body, and repair cervical lesions, or prevent them from developing.

Papilocare® contains the following natural ingredients:

• Coriolus versicolor: stimulates the immune response
• Neem (azadirachta indica): repairs tissues
• Aloe vera: repairs tissues
• Centella asiatica: repairs tissues
• Bioecolia: promotes a healthy microbiota
• Hyaluronic acid: moisturises tissues
• Beta-glucan: has an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effect
• Papilocare® is paraben-free. It contains lactic acid.

Research shows that Papilocare® can repair HPV-related lesions 6 months of using the gel as recommended.

In the PALOMA study the percentage of patients who had normal cervical smear test findings (also called a pap smear or pap test) was significantly higher in the group of women who were treated with Papilocare® than in the control group, who did not receive the treatment.

Papilocare® has been used by over 600,000 women since its launch in 2016. It is considered to be generally safe. The rare side effect is sensation of irritation at the beginning of treatment. This is considered to come from the pH level of the product (5.5) which is the normal pH level of healthy vagina; however, some women have higher pH level, causing feeling of burning when the gel is applied due to incompatible pH levels.

The irritation normally disappears after a few days. The manufacturer recommends that you interrupt the treatment until the irritation disappears. If the condition persists, you should stop using the product.

There is no clinical data available with this patient population. If you are trying to get pregnant, a doctor should be consulted prior to consideration of using the product.

Although Papilocare is not contraindicated in pregnancy or breastfeeding, there is no clinical data available with these patient population. In case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, a doctor should be consulted prior to consideration of using the product.

If you are wearing vaginal contraceptives, Papilocare vaginal gel’s manufacturer recommends that you do not use Papilocare®. There is no clinical data in this population.

Papilocare® is compatible with natural latex rubber condoms.
