Papilocare® external genital gel is a non-hormonal gel with moisturising and repairing properties which works on the external genital area. It is developed for men and women with HPV.

Papilocare® external genital gel is for men and women who have completed surgical removal or cryotherapy of genital warts caused by HPV.

Genital warts are fairly common –  8% of people get them some time in their lives. They are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) which is a very common infection.

Papilocare® external genital gel is for men and women 18 years old or older who have HPV-related genital warts (known as condylomas) that have already been treated medically or surgically, for example with laser surgery. Papilocare® external genital gel will help repair the affected genital mucosa, and help prevent the warts from recurring.

Speak to your doctor or a medical specialist before starting treatment with Papilocare® external genital gel.

You should start using Papilocare® vaginal gel after your genital warts are treated surgically (e.g., laser) or medically.
Apply a small quantity of the product on the external genital area with the tip of your fingers.
We recommend that you apply it twice a day, including one application at night, before going to bed.
You can continue to use Papilocare® vaginal gel under your doctor’s guidance as long as needed until your condition is fully resolved. Please consult your doctor. Women can use it in combination with Papilocare® vaginal gel.

You can continue to use Papilocare® external genital gel as long as needed, or according to the advice of your doctor.

Papilocare® external genital gel works by:

Innovative technology

Papilocare® external genital gel uses an innovative technology to deliver treatment to the areas where it is needed. Some of its ingredients are encapsulated in nisomes and phytosomes, targeted drug delivery systems that concentrate the active ingredients in the deeper layers of the damaged tissues, speeding up the repair and healing process.

The gel helps restore normal hydrated and elastic tissue in the external genital area of both men and women, favouring the body’s natural healing process against the lesions caused by HPV.

Papilocare® external genital gel contains the following natural ingredients:

• Coriolus versicolor: stimulates the immune response
• Neem (azadirachta indica): repairs tissues
• Aloe vera: repairs tissues
• Centella asiatica: repairs tissues
• Bioecolia: promotes a healthy microbiota, the natural balance of healthy bacteria that helps protect against infection
• Hyaluronic acid: moisturises tissues
• Beta-glucan: has an anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects

The efficacy and safety of Papilocare® external genital gel has not been tested in clinical studies.

However, Papilocare® vaginal gel, which has the same ingredients as Papilocare® external genital gel has shown significant efficacy and good safety among women with HPV and cervical lesions.

In addition, there are several published clinical case studies on the effect of Papilocare external genital gel among patients who have been treated for genital warts.

Papilocare® external genital gel has not been tested with pregnant women. Although there is no evidence to show that the use of Papilocare® during pregnancy causes issues, we recommend that you consult your doctor before using the product.

Some women may experience irritation, itching and/or a burning sensation after using Papilocare® external gel. This type of reaction is more common in women with a very sensitive or significantly damaged genital area or with an altered vaginal pH (for example, women who are post-menopausal, or have had a recent vaginal infection). One possible cause of irritation is the difference between the alkaline vaginal pH of peri- or post-menopausal women and the pH of the product, which is 5.5. Another possible reason is an allergy to any of the ingredients. Papilocare® external gel contains lactic acid and so if you are allergic to it, you should not use the product.

Some women find these side effects disappear as they continue to use Papilocare®. If you find the side effects are severe or persistent, stop using the product and consult your doctor.
